Health

There is a severe deficiency of basic health care facilities in district Lakki Marwat. Wherever basic or tertiary level health care services are provided, they have been over burdened over the decades, providing health care for IDPs and refugees from neighboring tribal areas and war torn Afghanistan, thus resulting in damaged infrastructure, shortage of medicines and qualified personnel.

The hospitals and Basic Health units in the district lack qualified doctors and trained para-medic staff, medical equipment, beds and medicines. The management available with the government to run these hospitals has failed to deliver upon the requirements of the local populace and provide them with even basic health care. Over and above this almost 20 hours of power black outs are a constant reminder of the national and local economy's limitations.
